Happy Birthday America!

Check out my latest photo inspiration board (I told you, there will be oh so many more to come now) in, you guessed it, red, white and blue! A Fourth of July wedding sounds so laid back and fun. An outdoor ceremony, barbecue style reception and dancing underneath the fireworks – sounds like a great way to spend America’s birthday to me.

And a Fourth of July wedding doesn’t mean you need to dive straight into the tacky and predictable holiday décor. Simply picking out major elements in solid shades of red and blue can be enough homage to Uncle Sam if you’re getting married that day. If you want to fully embrace the holiday in your theme, try putting mini flag toothpicks in your reception food, creating a tower of red, white and blue cupcakes, and creating some do-it-yourself star garlands to decorate your wedding venue.

Hope you enjoyed the long weekend!

beach themed wedding details.

Beach themed weddings are usually more laid back – it’s just the nature of the setting. This can allow you the opportunity to have a little more fun with the reception details. Like with these crab wine bottle holders. When else would it be appropriate to use these little cuties besides at a beach side wedding reception? My Wedding Favors recommends using them as a gift for guests, but purchasing just a few for the reception tables is a great way to extend your beach theme.

These mini beach chair place cards also offer a way to have a little more fun with your reception table settings. The beach towel stickers are also a simple, do it yourself project that makes this unique element very affordable for any brides working with a budget. Line them all up in sand and decorate with drink umbrellas for a fun way for guests to discover where they’re sitting.
