Perfect Pomander Wedding Ceremony

Pomander – this is a new word to my vocabulary today. Have you ever heard of one? Well if you haven’t, you should because these huge scented flower balls are adorable. A pomander is traditionally a fruit that has been poked with cloves all over the outside, then dried and covered in pretty smelling things making a huge pretty potpourri ball. Flower pomanders are inspired by the original and are still great smelling pretty balls but are actually flowers stuck into a styrofoam ball center. This wedding ceremony set-up is perfect for an outdoor wedding and features these little balls of goodness.

Hanging a few at the beginning of the chairs defines the beginning of your space, much like a door would do if you were having an indoor ceremony. They also look great hanging with ribbons down the aisle.

And this altar is absolutely stunning. I love the idea of things hanging overhead and am a sucker for paper lanterns, which is why I fell in love with this flower pomander altar. It adds structure and tradition to your outdoor wedding while retaining that whimsical, organic feel you want when getting married outside.

Bridal Headpieces – I Just Can’t Get Enough

This week I will be planning my perfect autumn wedding. Every day I’ll be picking an element here and there that would come together for the ultimate fall wedding. While I understand those that plan a fall wedding in the traditional foliage colors – red, orange, maroon, brown – those colors just wouldn’t work on me, so this week I will be planning the perfect purple, green and brown outdoor wedding.

Naturally, my first pick is from Etsy. Seriously, where did people find affordable unique pieces before this site came around? I just can’t remember my life before it. This purple and feathered bridal headpiece is drop dead gorgeous. It retains the organic quality of an outdoor wedding but gives it a refined, chic look. Plus it’s purple and brown – perfect. I also love this modern Hollywood glam look and the way it incorporates the tradition of a veil without actually covering the bride’s face on her big day. This and other great bridal headpieces can be found on the Twigs and Honey Etsy site.

Antique Scroll Wedding Invitations

Classic, vintage and elegant, these Antique Scroll Wedding invitations put a modern twist on a classic design. Scroll detailing adds an antique touch – all the original love letters were written actual scrolls so why not channel some of that energy for your big day? These invitations will let your wedding guests know how special and full of love your wedding will be at first site.

These look engraved and antiqued without paying that large price tag. The intentionally imperfect sketching and font make these invitations look vintage and unique, a perfect way to set the tone of your big day for your wedding guests.

lavender and grey inspired wedding.

I love the combination of lavender and grey – it’s so elegant and versatile. If you add pops of yellow and green, you could use those colors for a spring or summer wedding. If you add white and cranberry it would be appropriate for a fall or winter wedding.
