Wedding Event Invitations

So many more activities surround a wedding than just your big day. There’s all the planning (which is the single largest event), engagement parties, bridal showers, bachelor/bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinners and more. Whether you’re a bridezilla who is picking out the details of every event or you’re a member of the bridal party throwing one of these events, be sure to pay attention to the details. And nothing sets the tone of an event like the invitation.

Bridal showers are not about the joining couple – it is all about the bride. But remember, this is an event most family members are invited to so keep all the other stuff for the bachelorette party. Bridal shower doesn’t necessarily have to be girly if the bride is not, but I love these couture wedding gown sketches for the invitation.

Planning a bachelorette party? Plan around the bride’s tastes but usually you can have a bit more fun with these invitations.
Or highlight the bride and the location of your gathering with theses night on the town invites.

No matter what style you’re looking for, you have a ton of options. Picking out these special details will make the bride’s wedding even more amazing.

cupcake wedding cake.

Cupcakes are delicious and adorable. I don’t know why, but everything is more irresistible when it’s miniature. They’re great for every celebration, and now more modern brides are choosing towers of cupcakes over the traditional wedding cake. They’re easy to serve and less expensive than an elaborate tiered creation. Cupcake wedding towers are a no fuss modern alternative. And you can have the bakery make a smaller traditional wedding cake to save for your first year anniversary.

Decorate the stand and tiers to look cohesive like this tropical cupcake tower. Also cupcakes allow you to have different flavors and include all the elements of your color scheme in a unique way.

Wedding Colors: Yellow and Gray Wedding Color Inspiration

Yellow and gray has been showing up everywhere in the wedding world so I decided it was time to throw my own little inspiration into the mix.

Birds Wedding Invitation

The invite shown is Modern Girl Invitations’ Birds Wedding Invitation It’s posted on the website in a few colors, but I particularly like the yellow and gray (and the caribbean and grape too, but that’s technically for a different day of color inspiration) 🙂

Birds Wedding Invitations

You can’t have a wedding with just invites alone, so I did a little inspiration boarding on Polyvore as well.  Lemons are always a great accessory to work into a yellow themed wedding, as well as daffodils or lilies.

Yellow and Gray Wedding with Birds

To keep with the bird theme, i added a funky bird necklace, that yes, believe it or not, is for sale for $12 at modcloth.com.  Think your maids could pull it off?  If you do, send me the pics! (I imagine it’s quite a bit smaller than it looks in the picture though) 🙂

Wedding Colors: Moss, Lilac, and Yellow Wedding Color Inspiration

As I was doing some designing a few nights ago, I noticed that three design files in three different colors had randomly placed themselves next to eachother, creating a lovely little color palette!  The colors are Moss, Lilac, and Honeybee.

Vintage Color Palette in Lilac, Moss, and Honey

The invite shown is Modern Girl Invitations’ Vintage Monogram Wedding Invitation and we have it in a ton of colors on the site.  I wrote a preview post about this invite a few weeks ago, and now I’m super happy that it’s finally up (AND has given me some fun color inspiration)!

I was so excited that I decided to do a little inspiration board with these colors to see if they would really work for a wedding.  I think this palette would look fabulous with an ivory dress and vintage 1920’s details, such as pearls, lace wrapped candies, and a simple but elegant cake.  Enjoy!
