Happy Thanksgiving! Today seems like the last chance to celebrate an autumn wedding theme since it is the first official day of the winter holiday season and we’ll soon be swept up into the glitter and wrappings that come with it. So take a moment to remember the rich, warm colors and delicious treats from the fall.

Fall is also a great season for simple, do-it-yourself wedding projects. Wrap votive holders with fake autumn leaves with a rustic tie to quickly dress up your reception tables. Build a tower of cupcakes sprinkled with fall color and/or bake miniature pies with leaf print tops for a laid-back dessert. Pull together your fall wedding with other autumnal color touches such as brown bridesmaids’ dresses, pumpkin centerpieces and foliage inspired escort cards.

I hop on a lot of planes. I love to travel. I find the architecture and culture of cities around the globe inspiring. Through all this I’ve also come to love that global, jet-setter aesthetic. Globes, world maps, old fashion luggage, old world keys, cultural obscurities and vintage finishes are all components of travel décor. If you’re the same, why not celebrate your love for travel in your wedding planning? A wedding theme doesn’t always need to be a color palette, a destination theme, or culturally centered. Emphasize what you and your fiancé love most.
Check out this week’s world traveler wedding inspiration board. Try tea stained escort cards, guest location flags on globes (a centerpiece perhaps?), luggage prop engagement photos or a champagne fountain (ok that one might not be worldly but it’s awesome).

In honor of the Mad Men season finale that aired last night I bring you a Mad Men wedding inspiration board. For those of you not familiar with the show, Mad Men is a 1960s drama focused on the interworking of an advertising firm in New York City. The silhouettes, personalities, and dramas can easily translate to your wedding day. Have an entirely Mad Men inspired wedding or simply steal some accessories, dress cuts or drink recipes inspired by the show.

Pearls and prim and proper dresses can accessorize your bridal party. And if you decide to make it a truly Mad Men wedding, why not include a few pop art prints as your wedding reception table markers? Or just pull in the 1960s vibe with short gloves and wedding veils. Getting married or not, this drink recipe sounds delicious.

It has been cold and rainy on the east coast but this orange wedding has been a bright spot this week. The vibrant colors yet classic settings make this wedding fun and modern while still keeping it a formal affair. It was the best color palette for my last summery wedding plan. Hopefully this weekend have a bit more sunshine!
