Yellow and gray has been showing up everywhere in the wedding world so I decided it was time to throw my own little inspiration into the mix.

The invite shown is Modern Girl Invitations’ Birds Wedding Invitation It’s posted on the website in a few colors, but I particularly like the yellow and gray (and the caribbean and grape too, but that’s technically for a different day of color inspiration)

You can’t have a wedding with just invites alone, so I did a little inspiration boarding on Polyvore as well.  Lemons are always a great accessory to work into a yellow themed wedding, as well as daffodils or lilies.

To keep with the bird theme, i added a funky bird necklace, that yes, believe it or not, is for sale for $12 at modcloth.com.  Think your maids could pull it off?  If you do, send me the pics! (I imagine it’s quite a bit smaller than it looks in the picture though)

Modern Girl customers always come up with the best ideas

Yellow and grey have been pretty hot as a color combination for a while now, but I never thought to put it to use on our Modern Daisy design.  I’m loving it!  (So much so that I had to post it!) :p

Right now it’s not possible to show all of the potential color combinations for each design on our site, so we encourage brides to change up our posted color schemes so that their invitations match their wedding colors perfectly (free of charge of course!).  I like to think of myself as sort of creative, but honestly I’m much more blown away by the cool color combos our brides-to-be think up compared to the themes I’ve come up with myself.  Plus I often get into little ruts where I can’t think of any good color palettes except for a key few (fuschia, tangerine, and lime have somehow taken over my brain).

Can’t wait for the next Modern Girl order to come in with an out of the ordinary color request so I can be filled with inspiration again
