Suede Wedding Pumps – I Do

Nothing says autumn to me like a good pair of suede booties. Especially for an outdoor wedding, I think the suede element is a must. It’s luxurious and elegant yet natural and soft. While I think booties may be a little too much for your wedding day (though power to those brides who can pull it off!), I couldn’t resist recommending green suede pumps for this wedding. And these cuties – note the platform for comfort – are a great option for a forest wedding bride.

Even when window shopping online, I have a hard time picking out things I know I can’t afford. I mean, maybe the things I lust after are a little more expensive than I’d normally buy but nothing overly extravagant (most of the time at least). So while these green suede pumps are a practical price, I couldn’t help but notice this similar style made by Miu Miu. I mean it is your wedding day, so should you save or splurge on your shoes? I say splurge.

An Outdoor Forest Wedding

With Fall just around the corner, I’m inspired to plan an outdoor wedding. Just imagining all that rich foliage and greenery - with Christmas trees coming indoors soon after! - gets me excited. So this week I’m planning an outdoor, forest wedding utilizing all the natural shades of green for the wedding color palette.

This Salt Lake City wedding takes place in the perfect outdoor venue for the Fall. I like how this couple stepped away from the typical, waterfront-view outdoor wedding ceremony location and opted for something a little more rustic and autumnal. The trees, the stones, the circle of flower petals - I love it all.

And look at these lanterns hanging from the trees. If I didn’t already love the location, that definitely would have won me over.

Also, I can’t help but think of Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. I know it may sound weird, but they both met their husbands (princes in fact so even better) in the middle of a forest which makes this setting seem that much more romantic.

Autumn Wedding: Purple, Green and Brown

This week I’ve been picking out elements for the perfect fall wedding. I’ve brought all the elements together in this inspiration board – you really should start making these. Seeing everything together just feels complete, looks gorgeous and seems infinitely better than the individual parts.

For the do-it-yourself instructions and sources of all this goodness, check out the previous posts from this week! Purple, green and brown are such a modern twist on the traditional fall wedding color palette and adds a little bit of surprise to what your guests may have been expecting. Also, your bridal party will likely appreciate your color choices – who doesn’t look good in at least one shade of purple?

Purple and Green Reception Tables

I love flowers – I mean who doesn’t. If they tell you they don’t, they’re probably lying. They smell pretty, they look pretty and it always helps if they come from an equally pretty boy. Nonetheless, I think plain flower arrangements for wedding reception tables are a bit boring. There are just so many more modern options today that you shouldn’t let those flowers stand alone.

This purple and green centerpiece incorporates limes, which add such a fresh edge to an otherwise traditional bouquet. I also love that they skipped roses – there are so many other pretty flowers out there that are so much more reasonably priced. And purple hydrangeas, sign me up please. The dark purple and bright greens have such an inviting contrast I can’t look away. Add in that this couple outfitted the reception hall with bamboo chairs and you’ve combined all three of my wedding colors with natural elements. I might add in a few candles (and obviously escort cards and dinnerware) to finish off this purple, brown and green reception table.
