Lovely Bridal Shop

I came across this Lovely Bridal Shop yesterday and it’s is so lovely I had to share. The slideshow of images on the homepage just kept increasing my infatuation. The homepage display is a chalkboard – a budding necessity for your wedding day décor. The shop features bridal headpieces and flowing, feminine wedding dresses – that are reasonably priced too! You don’t need a designer dress stealing attention away from you on your big day so check out these little beauties for an alternative.

lovely-bridal-shopThe shop features dresses by Sarah Seven and Elizabeth Dye – both designers I have shared with you before. Both make dresses I’d buy on the spot today so please don’t tempt me.

boneAs if online browsing through these dresses wasn’t amazing enough, they are having a trunk show in two weeks! If you’re a bride-to-be or just swoon over pretty white dresses and live in NYC you should make an appointment. I’ll be living vicariously through you – so send us some pictures!

Untraditional Wedding Bands

Do people still wear his-and-her wedding band sets? I can’t imagine me ever picking out a ring style that a man would also like to wear and since I’d have to wear it (hopefully) everyday for the rest of my life I don’t really see myself compromising. I understand how having traditional, complimentary his-and-her bands could work for some people but it’s just not in the cards for me.

As if I weren’t already being difficult enough, I also like untraditional wedding bands. Modern brides have so many options so avoid the traditional wedding route and pick out a wedding band that matches your personality (unless your personality is traditional, than by all means go with that). These rings by Satomi Kawakita are a great example of modern wedding bling options. They’re still simple and elegant enough to be worn everyday but with a touch more personality.

I like the idea of have a band of jewels wrapped all the way around my finger – who wouldn’t?

texture-ringI love how organic and natural these pieces feel. It’s like having a traditional band with a touch more texture – the best of both worlds.

This is totally off topic. But this monstrous rock is amazing. Your right hand shouldn’t get ignored on your wedding day, right?

Something Old & Something New

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. I know the rule says you must carry all four when you get married, but can your something old and something new be the same item? Like if you purchase some vintage bling it’s an old piece but a new purchase, so does that count? I say yes. And in the spirit of me deciding you can interpret these rules however you want, I’ve gone ahead and picked out some fabulous vintage pieces for your something old and something new. You can thank me later.

It’s sparkly, vintage and can be worn as a hairpiece. I obvi couldn’t resist.

If you’re going to go vintage, you can’t do any better than a vintage wedding brooch. There’s something about their style that is timeless and elegant. A great modern twist is to wear a small cluster of brooches at the waist rather than one simple statement piece. Or clip one onto your wedding bouquet – that counts as part of your outfit too.

And remember, it’s your big day so you get to make all the rules. Don’t want to wear something old, new, borrowed or blue? Then don’t.

Twigs and Honey Headbands

You just know I couldn’t resist. Twigs & Honey released their new line of bridal accessories and I am in love. Her handmade, high quality bridal headbands are perfect - if only I wouldn’t get strange looks at the office, I’d be spotted in these jewel covered and large floral pieces every week. Unfortunately I can’t finagle a way to justify my current lust with even a touch of practicality so I have to leave them in the shop for all of you brides-to-be.

And as if those headpieces weren’t enough bridal perfection to fill your daily wedding lust list, the shop also sells garters. Not your typical, tacky pieces of elastic but elegant and chic little leg pieces. Your thigh wants a high quality accessory too, so why not give in? I mean how often does it get to accessorize… it deserves something so nice.
