Wedding celebrations often turn into not just a celebration of the marriage but also a celebration of the wedding couples’ cultures. If you’re like me and have no definite cultural background to celebrate do not worry. This only opens up the possibilities and instead of strictly following Italian, Jewish or German traditions, you can pick and choose the elements that fit best with your wedding plans.

NYmag.com suggested some great cultural wedding traditions for you to incorporate, including links to products and companies that will help you pull it off. My favorite from the bunch is borrowed from the Netherlands. Instead of using a guest book the Dutch have a wishing tree. Guests write well wishes and congratulations to the couple on leaf-shaped paper and tie them from branches with ribbon. How cute is that? If you still want a guest book from your wedding, just keep the leaves and paste them into your own book with pictures of your wedding guests. What a unique keepsake.
