Veils: Do or Don’t?
Wedding veils used to be a standard accessory at every wedding ceremony. There was something old, new, borrowed, blue, a veil, a garter and a set or rings on a pillow. Some of these traditions prevail, but modern brides have the option to choose which of these traditions carry on – so does the wedding veil?
Wedding veils are said to have once been a symbol of a bride’s virginity. The lifting of the veil is also rumored to be symbolizing the groom taking possession of the bride from her parents. Wedding veils have a symbolism I don’t necessarily agree with but does that make them a don’t? I mean they can be pretty cute, so I’m on the fence.
I like these shorter alternatives if you include one. It’s a great, updated option.
