• Q Do you offer samples?
  
  A.Yes. Modern Girl Invitations offers sample packs for $1 each. Each sample comes with an invitation, response card, directions card, save the date card, thank you card, and corresponding envelopes. Samples only come in the primary color of each design, but we will include a card that shows the other available colors for your reference. Samples will have generic text and cannot be personalized. We highly recommend ordering samples to ensure that you order the right color (computer screens can sometimes be misleading in terms of color).

  A.Yes. Modern Girl Invitations uses the very best in paper and envelopes and we take pride in our printing and our stationery. If you are in any way unsatisfied with your order (which we don't think you will be!), please contact us and we will take actions to make sure you are completely satisfied.
  
  
• Q Do you have a physical store?
  
  A.No. Modern Girl Invitations is a nationwide online stationery store, and we do not currently have a studio that is open to the public.
  
  
• Q Can I find your wedding invitations for sale elsewhere?
  
  A.No. All of the invitation designs on our site have been designed exclusively for Modern Girl Invitations. They are not available in any other stores, either online or offline.
  
  
• Q Do you offer e-invitations to go along with my paper invitations?
  
  A.Not yet, but we hope to be offering e-invitations soon! Check back or join the mailing list to stay updated.
  
  
• Q What wording should I use on my wedding invitations?
  
  A.Our wedding invitations give many different examples of wording you can use on your wedding invitations. In today's environment, pretty much any wording goes, and you can feel free to make it your own since it's your event.
  
  
• Q Do you offer a printed catalog of your invitations?
  
  A.No.
  
  
• Q I need my wedding invitations printed in 2 languages, can you do this?
  
  A.Yes. We can create bilingual invitations by printing on both sides of the invitation, with a different language on each side. The surcharge for this service is a $50 design fee and 15% of your total order price for backside printing. To order bilingual invitations, please email us before you place your order.
  
  
• Q Do you ship internationally?
  
  A.Yes. If you are an international customer, please contact us at customerservice@moderngirlinvitations.com before placing your order because we will need to place your order manually. Our free shipping promotion does not apply to international customers, so international customers will be responsible for paying all shipping costs and any duties, taxes, or customs fees that may apply. We ship internationally via the United States Postal Service. When you email us we will be happy to provide you with a shipping quote before placing your order.
  
  

Ordering & Payment

• Q I need my invitations right away. What can I do?
  
  A.Modern Girl Invitations offer rush processing for $50. Your invitations will be processed within 1-2 business days if you select this option. You can also choose express shipping such as overnight shipping or next day shipping during the checkout process.
  
  
• Q Should I order my wedding invitations and enclosures together or separately?
  
  A.It is best to order all of your wedding stationery together so that you can ensure the best color matching. We have no pre-printed material and each order is printed fresh for each bride. Ordering everything together guarantees that all of your pieces will be exactly the same color.
  
  
• Q Will my invitations come preassembled?
  
  A.No. Your invitations, response cards, enclosure cards, and envelopes will be not be pre-assembled. At this time we do not offer assembly services.
  
  
• Q When should I order my wedding invitations?
  
  A.It is best to order your wedding invitations as soon as you have all of the wedding details set, including date, location, time, and in some cases menu. We recommend ordering 5-6 months in advance to give yourself plenty of time for receiving your invitations, addressing them, assembling them, and allowing a comfortable window of time for responses to come in before the wedding.
  
  
• Q When will my credit card be charged?
  
  A.Your credit card will be charged when you submit your order.
  
  
• Q Will my invitation look exactly like the online preview?
  
  A.Your invitation will look very close to the preview you see online. Some minor adjustments to font size and placement may be made due to the length of names and wording, but you will get to see and approve these changes when your electronic proof is delivered.
  
  
• Q What happens after I submit my order?
  
  A.Once you submit your order, a designer at Modern Girl Invitations will check over your order for errors, make minor layout adjustments if necessary, and complete any changes you requested in the special instructions box. Once your order is reviewed, an electronic proof will be sent to your email as a PDF file within 1 business day. After you approve your proof by responding to the email, your order will go to print. This process, including printing, takes 4-5 days. After printing, your order will be shipped and a tracking number will be sent to you through email.
  
  
• Q How long will it take to get my invitations?
  
  A.Processing time for all orders is approximately 4-5 days. Shipping your order depends on your location and can take as long as 10 days. A safe time estimate for receiving your invitations is 2-3 weeks, however most brides will receive their invitations in about 2 weeks. Please visit our Shipping and Processing page for a more accurate time estimate.
  
  
• Q Will I get to see a proof before printing?
  
  A.Yes. Modern Girl Invitations offers a free electronic proof for each item ordered. Your e-proof will come as a PDF file and can be opened using Adobe Acrobat or similar software. Almost all computers have this software, so viewing your proof should be easy. Once you receive your proof, you will need to respond back to Modern Girl Invitations to let us know that you are satisfied with what you see and that your order can be sent for printing.
  
  
• Q Do you charge sales tax?
  
  A.Because Modern Girl Invitations operates in New York State, New York state residents will be charged 8.0% sales tax. Residents of other states will not be charged sales tax.
  
  
• Q Do you offer any discounts?
  
  A.Yes. Modern Girl Invitations periodically runs promotions and special discounts. Please join our mailing list so stay up to date on our promotions. We also offer discounts when you purchase additional enclosures or collection items with your invitation order. Please see Invitation Packages for more information.
  
  
• Q There is a monogram on the invitation I'd like to order, but I don't see a monogram on the personalization step?
  
  A.Because of the complex way some of our monograms are made, they cannot be previewed online. Don't worry though, you will see your monogram on your free e-Proof, and your order will not go to print until you approve it. Just make a note in the special instructions box as to which letters you would like us to use for the monogram.
  
  
• Q Why does the font on the personalize step look slightly different than on the preview card images?
  
  A.Because of the way our online personalization system works, the type on the personalization step may look slightly different than what you see on the preview images and thumbnails. Don't worry though, the font and embellishments will be perfected when we create your free e-Proof, and your order will not go to print until you approve it.
  
  
• Q My wording got cut off while I was personalizing my card. What should I do?
  
  A.Your wording has been cut off because you've run out of room for that line. Not to worry though. If you'd like your full text to show, just enter it as you would like it to be printed, and our designers will adjust the font size and layout slightly so that your wording fits neatly on your design. You will get to see this adjustment when you receive your free e-Proof after you submit your order.

• Q Do you offer other paper types?
  
  A.No. All of our invitations are printed on Finch Fine 100 lbs. 14pt. heavy white cardstock.
  
  
• Q There is matching stationery I need that I don't see on your site. Can you create it for me?
  
  A.Yes. We can create matching programs, labels, tags, enclosures, and menus for any of the designs on our site. Since these are not standard products, the prices may vary. Please contact us for details.
  
  
• Q What kind of paper are my invitations printed on?
  
  A.All of our wedding invitations and stationery are printing on Finch Fine 100 lbs. 14 pt. heavy white cardstock. The cardstock is heavier than an index card, but not as heavy and stiff as the backing of a notebook, making it the perfect weight for a wedding invitation. It is an uncoated card stock, which means that it has a smooth matte finish rather than a glossy finish.
  
  
• Q I don't like the font on the invitation and want to change it. What do I do?
  
  A.The designers for Modern Girl Invitations have chosen fonts that they feel best match each design; however, we understand that you might like another font better. You can change the font to any other font on our site for a flat fee of $15. If you have a font you would like to use that is not found on our site, additional fees may occur. Please contact us if you would like to change fonts on a design before you order.
  
  
• Q I don't see the color I want. What can I do?
  
  A.Modern Girl Invitations offers each wedding invitation design in a variety of colors. Our color chart is shown on the Custom Changes and Colors page. Many invitations are already posted online in a variety of colors but some are not. If you would like to order an invitation in a color that isn't posted online, just note the color name in the Special Instructions box during personalization.
  
  If you would like to see your design in the color you want before your order, just contact us and we'll be happy to create a free preview for you and send it over via email.
  
  If you need a color that you don't see on our chart, we can work to match or create a custom color for a flat fee of $15.
  
  
• Q Can I put my invitations and enclosures in pocket folders?
  
  A.Yes. Although we do not offer pocket folders on our site, our wedding stationery has been designed to fit into certain invitation pocket folders. If you would like to arrange your invitation and enclosures in a pocket folder please contact us so that we can make a slight adjustment to the cutting and trimming of your wedding invitations in order to make them fit properly, as well as recommend a place for purchase.
  
  
• Q What are the sizes of your invitations and stationery?
  
  A.All of our invitations and stationery come in standard sizes. Some cards may have a horizontal orientation, and some may have a vertical orientation they are still the same size. Invitations are 5 x7", Save the Date cards and Thank You cards are 4 x 5.5", Directions cards are 3.5 x 5.75", Reception cards are 3.5 x 4.25" and response cards are 3.5 x 5".
  
  
• Q What kind of printing do you use for your invitations?
  
  A.Modern Girl Invitations uses state of the art digital printing presses for all of our stationery. Our printing process is a CMYK printing process. That means that we are not limited to certain colors, and that having multiple colors on a single invitation will not increase the price of your invitation.
  
  
• Q Do you do custom designs from scratch?
  
  A.Modern Girl Invitations does not custom design new invitations. We will, however, create stationery items to match our existing products. Please contact us for details.
  
  

Envelopes

• Q How will my return address be printed on my response cards?
  
  A.Return address printing on response card envelopes will be placed on the front center of the return envelope. The font used will be the same font used on your invitation (usually the non-script font), and it will be printed in black ink.
  
  
• Q How will my return address be printed on my save the date cards and thank you cards?
  
  A.Your return address will be printed on the back flap of the envelope in a straight line unless otherwise noted. The font used will be the same font used on your invitation (the non-script font), and it will be printed in black ink.

  A.Modern Girl Invitations uses A1, A2, and A7 envelopes. Our wedding invitations fit into A7 envelopes, save the date cards and thank you cards fit into A2 envelopes, and response cards fit into A1 envelopes. An A7 envelopes is 5 1/4 x 7 1/4", A2 is 4 1/4 x 5 3/4", and A1 is 5 1/8 x 3 5/8".
  
  
• Q Do you pre-ship envelopes?
  
  A.We do not currently offer pre-shipped envelopes.

• Q What are your envelopes like?
  
  A.Our envelopes are high quality 80 lbs. smooth white writing envelopes. They are much heavier than the typical envelopes that you use to send letters and have a high quality finish to the paper.
  
  
• Q Do you offer other types of envelopes or different colors?
  
  A.We do not currently offer any other types of envelopes through our site. However, if you'd like to purchase your own envelopes, our stationery has been designed to fit into standard envelope sizes.
  
  
• Q Do you offer envelope addressing services?
  
  A.No. We currently do not offer invitation addressing services; however, we hope to add this service in the future.
