Invitation Envelopes and Sizes

Our Envelopes

All Modern Girl Invitations wedding invitations, response cards, thank you cards, and save the date cards come with matching white envelopes included in the pricing. Our envelopes are A style envelopes, which means they have a square flap. In terms of weight, they are 80 lb. envelopes, which means they are much heavier than standard mailing envelopes which are typically 24 lb. The finish of our envelopes is slightly more textured than a typical mailing envelope yet it is still considered very smooth, making it easy to write on and giving it a luxury finish. Samples of our envelopes are included with each invitation sample order. 

How to assemble your Wedding Invitations

We created our wedding invitations so that they fit together perfectly in presentation when your guests open the envelopes. To assemble an invitation and response card, first tuck the response card under the flap of the return envelope. Place the response card and envelope print side up against the wedding invitation. Place the wedding invitation, response card and envelope in the outer envelope so that the guest will see the printed side of the envelope when they open the back flap.   The top text of the wedding invitation should be against the left side of the envelope.

For invitation packages that include reception cards and directions cards, place the tallest card (the directions card) in the back, place the shorted card (the reception card) in the front, and place the response card tucked into the envelope in the center. The width of all wedding invitation enclosure cards are the same, so they will line up nicely when placed in this order. Place all of the enclosure cards against the wedding invitation print side up and insert into the outer envelope so the guests will see the printed side when they open the invitation from the back. Make sure the top text of your invitation is against the left side of the envelope when looking at it from the back.
